Marine Fisheries Engineering Department
Establishment Date:
The Department of Marine Fisheries Engineering is considered one
of the earliest scientific departments established at the Institute, having
been founded in 1999.
Mission:
To graduate highly competent technicians in the field of marine
fisheries technology, qualified to contribute to the process of construction
and technological development.
Objectives:
·
To prepare qualified technical personnel capable of working in
the Libyan market.
·
To train competent personnel to manage ships and fishing boats,
and to work in fishing centers and ports.
·
To produce technical staff capable of meeting the needs and
requirements of the marine fishing sector.
·
To graduate technical personnel qualified to work aboard fishing
boats and marine dredgers.
Future Vision for the Department:
·
To continuously develop and technically prepare graduates.
·
To establish integrated laboratories and workshops to reduce the
importation of certain fishing gear that can be manufactured locally.
·
To explore the possibility of twinning with advanced counterpart
institutes in the field of marine fisheries, both locally and internationally.
·
To organize specialized workshops for the development of
fisheries and marine fishing gear.
Key Activities:
·
Participation in the local and international Tripoli Fair.
·
Participation in workshops dedicated to maritime institutes and
curriculum development.
